Electric powered pumps

In situations where the electricity supply is guaranteed to be maintained during a fire, the use of an electric powered pump may be appropriate.  Davey caution you to consider this option very carefully, and especially in rural or country areas where mains electricity will be unreliable during a fire.

While generators may be used as supplementary power supplies, these need to be sized and installed by qualified and experienced people.

Do not rely on home water pressure systems to provide sufficient performance to fight a fire, they almost certainly will be too small to do the job.
