Commercial Building Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting is great way to help the environment and cut water bills by reducing a building's demand on mains water.  Commercial buildings often have a large roof area which is ideal for collecting large amounts of rainwater.

In Queensland, it is mandatory with all new commercial buildings to have an alternative source of water.  The legislation talks about alternative water systems being of sufficient size relevant to the size of the building and the water being used for suitable uses.  It is likely that this legislation will be adopted by other states.
