During a ceremony at Victoria’s Government House – The Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser, A.C. announced Davey Water Products as a finalist in the Large Advanced Manufacturing category for our efforts in taking Australian water pump technology to the world.
Given the importance of exporting to the Australian economy, the objectives of the annual Governor of Victoria Export Awards are to showcase Victoria's top exporters, to promote them as role models and to encourage other Victorian businesses to strive for success in world markets.
These Awards acknowledge the important contribution businesses make to the economy through job creation and increased prosperity for the community and for the state.
Professor de Kretser commented: ‘Each year I am delighted to give my whole-hearted support to these Awards and to encourage our talented Victorian export achievers to participate.’
‘These awards traditionally attract a great diversity of entries. In recent years, there has been a change in the pattern of entries from the traditional export sectors of value added manufacturing and agricultural products to those involving emerging sectors such as information and communications technology, intellectual property, education and professional services.’ Continued the Governer.
Davey’s Gina Mersits – Export Coordinator, was delighted to be recognized for her teams efforts. “we strive to provide a excellent service to our export markets and have been rewarded with significant growth”
Davey exports water moving and treatment products to over 60 countries. The export markets cover: swimming pool and spa pumps, chlorinators and controllers, rainwater harvesting systems, pressure boosting systems and portable firefighting pumps.
